While the rest of us count down the minutes until it's over, Dwayne Johnson, 44, has a lot to be proud of this year — like being the highest paid actor and People's "Sexiest Man Alive," all while starring in countless box office hits.
And his colleagues aren't surprised.
"He's incredible. He brings this energy with him that is so focused, so professional, so funny," says director Seth Gordon, who's worked with Johnson on the upcoming film "Baywatch." "(He) brings out the best in those around him."
It's hard to believe The Rock didn't start his professional career as an actor. He cut his teeth on celebrity fame as a WWE champ in the late '90s and early 2000s.
"It is no surprise he's become one of Hollywood's most sought-after stars given his unique ability to captivate audiences worldwide while remaining humble and gracious," the WWE said in a statement.
Johnson lent his voice (including his singing one) as the Demigod Maui in “Moana” — Disney’s breakout animated film that debuted in November — and is starring in several remakes on deck, including "Fast 8," "Baywatch" and "Jumanji."
But perhaps his sweetest role was being a mentor to 15-year-old "Moana" co-star Auli'i Cravalho, who called the actor "a tremendous role model."
"Dwayne is an incredible guy; so determined and so kind," Cravalho said in a statement to the Daily News."To anyone wanting to succeed, Dwayne gives advice [TO ]work hard for what you want, and never stop working."
Johnson will also star as Black Adam alongside Superman played by Henry Cavill in the film "Shazam!" due out in 2019. He is also working on "Rampage" due out in 2018, and the recently announced flicks "Skyscraper” and "Doc Savage.”
While filming "Moana" in Hawaii, Johnson surprised children and military fans with "Rock the Troops," an event at Pearl Harbor military base to salute all the men and women serving our country.
"My respect for our troops is boundless," Johnson said at the time.
It showed when he reunited a military family on Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show" bringing viewers — and even Fallon — to tears.
The Rock wouldn't be the most desirable actor in Hollywood without the paycheck to prove it.
Forbes named Johnson its highest paid actor of 2016 — for the second time in a row, but that doesn't stop him from recalling the days he had just $7 to his name.
Now, Forbes listed him as taking home a whopping $64.5 million between June 2015 and June 2016.
t's also been a big year for the Rock's production company, which will put out the much anticipated "Baywatch" movie spinoff.
The film, which will hit theaters in May 2017, also stars Zac Efron, Priyanka Chopra, Alexandra Daddario and Kelly Rohbach.
The company, Seven Bucks Production, co-founded with ex-wife Dany Garcia, is the brains behind the film.
"I wouldn’t have done it without him," director Seth Gordon told The News. "There’s something so great about him in that role — it’s just perfect."
Not only does The Rock have a leading role — but he and Garcia are also the producers.
The hunky star is the actual Sexiest Man ALIVE, according to People.
But he also broke boundaries by being the first man of color given the honor since Denzel Washington topped the list back in 1996.
"Wow, we've pretty much reached the pinnacle," he joked with People once learning of the honor. "I'm not quite too sure where we go from here. I've done it all, this is it."
But it certainly isn't it for the star. There will be a lot more of The Rock in 2017.
Hey, we might even see him run for President in 2020 — he's even said he hasn't ruled it out.
"It would be a great opportunity to help people, so it's possible," he told Vanity Fair this November.
