Prime Minister Hon Majaliwa Kassim Majaliwa has ordered to cancell all allowances to public servants today January 3 2017, and ordered to direct those money to government development projects. PM spoke those orders in his official visit to Kigamboni disitrict, Dar es Salaaam. "From January anybody should not be given any kind of allowance, I am cancelling them and order those money to be directed in government development projects" Said PM
He said that councils spend a lot of money for the allowance provision instead of allocating those fund for developments
Also Hon Majaliwa has ordered the local governments to control and allocate the fund budgeted for development projects designed by the Councillors , they are supposed to submit their development priorities to the local government for fund allocation. Also Hon Majaliwa has ordered local governments to speed up in collecting revenue and identifying other sources for revenue.
Hon Majaliwa has reflected what his government stands for, the fifth administration under the presidency of Hon John Pombe Maguful stresses on the minimization of government expenditure as its policy.
Since the fifth administration has taken an office, a lot of measures aimed to minimize government expenditure have been taken. The measurement undertaken has resulted some cries from the citizen, due to the cut off of some money tunnels.
